scope trouble???

hey people iv just goy myself a bsa spitfire and i mounted a 4x40 scope on to it.

i zeroed it in to perfect at 10 and 20 yards but i took it to the permission 2days later and came back with it

not zeroed in and it's dropping inch and ahalf .

know iv checked the screws and thay are all tight made sure it's all filled with air .

i was just wondering if it was becouse i had to carryed it in a gunbag that it's done this if so whats the best way

to carry it as i havent knocked it or thrown it about for it to move >

 

any help would be great .

hello mate.....with my pcp i find that it is erratic when you fill to the reccomended 200bar.........after about 10 shots ( pressure is at around 190) it is unbeleivibly accurate down to about 120 bar, the "sweet spot" i suppose.

 

also check your scope mounts!!!! if it has dovetail mounts,some have revesible clamps to accomodate differant sizes. make sure tese are the right way round.

cheers for that sean but my rifle only holds about 30 shots .so for a hunting rilfe it would be pritty usless if i only got say 15 to 20 shots .

i dont think it's ecatic as thay group well it's just that it's dropped ?

just one thing iv just remembered the eye focus at the back .i turned it for some reason could this do it ???

sorry.......when i say erattic i don't mean here there and everywhere.........it shoots low.

 

dont under estimate your rifle................15 to 20 shots is ok for hunting.............we had 8 rabbits with 8 shots last week.............in 4hrs.

 

i suppose you could re zero.........and see how it performs.....but carrying it in a gun bag should be ok as long as it hasn't had any BIG knocks.

hey cheers for your help .i know i was being a bit aptomistic .but the new lang iv got is teaming with rabbits

i had to refill when i was there last time .

not sure if you have had a field that no matter ware you point your rifle youll hit atleast one rabbit .lol

 

iv just tryed messing with it and it's back to normal know .if it hapens again i'll go get a new scope >
