Rolfe 2
I am just about to start a grey squirrel control contract........i't an annual visit.......but last time i trapped here some cages went missing. I can only use cages on this job for reasons i won't go into but.......i have sprayed up a few cages to help hide them from the view of the general public that also have access to the site.......! Plain galvanised cages will catch just the same.... but by colouring them green it helps them blend in better to the surrounding area. The same principle as the wire tealers on rabbit snares, these can be left galvanised and they will still catch......but do benefit from spraying green........it all helps hide them from view and makes things more "Discreet" These are the before and after shots.......certainly stops them from standing out too much. Excellent job Rolfe, but have you used the Vauxhall leaf green Glenn uses, it's a great colour. It annoys me terribly when people nick stuff, snares, moletraps, anything, and it'll just hang in some shed gathering dust, yet if you were to kill them, it would be you that went to jail, sad really. Too be honest Ian..........I used some green i had left over in the shed........but the green Glenn uses is just about the right shade. Quote Link to post
proper job 1
There must be a lot of people out there read this forum, I went to my local Halfords the other day and "sorry sir, we're right out of Vauxhall Leaf Green, seems very popular at the moment". I'm sure Glen's got shares in the paint co. Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
"sorry sir, we're right out of Vauxhall Leaf Green, seems very popular at the moment". Belter!!! Rolfe; Try getting some black paint and just adding a few thin streaks over the green. Work from the corners and edges. Breaks it up beautifully. Just watch where ye put it down though ~ it can be a b*stard to find! Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
How much do you think it would cost to paint, say, 10 traps? Quote Link to post
Rolfe 2
How much do you think it would cost to paint, say, 10 traps? Depends how cheap you can get the spray paint, but you will get about 2 cages to a can. Quote Link to post
gerjan 7
but last time i trapped here some cages went missing. A hunter like you need to know the general rule for cage-thiefs! hide behind your cages with your doubblebarrel Edited May 14, 2008 by gerjan Quote Link to post
