Guest JohnGalway
What that sensible Garyw lad said This time of year, presuming you're doing a control job, just get them shot Quote Link to post

SportingShooter 0
What are you planning on shooting them with, 150-200 yards is within range of any .22 Centrefire. If a shotgun, then you would need to be a very experienced caller to get them to under 40 yards and at this time of year it is nigh on impossilbe. If you do not own a .22 C/F the im sure you know someone who does. GaryW gave a very good tip of putting bait out to make them stay for just long enough. Regards SS Quote Link to post

Guest JohnGalway
My guess goes for HMR So needs them closer. Quote Link to post
richie 1
hi gary.... its quite open ground & i see them on the ridge of a hill with no safe back stop, so if by chance i missed by the fox suddenly moving, which could happen, i dont want to worry where the bullet will have impact. i would need to call them in another 75-/+yds to take a safe shot as the target would come down a bank with a nice back stop.. ill be using a nightscope & it will be on a friends 17hmr. i will try the baiting with a bunny, but just wanted to try to call them in, i think that would be a achievement for me.. dickyboy 1
the wam fox call is great so is the new black onesort of 2 strips of plastic but what i did was wound all my mates up by sitting down squeaking the whole time, watching tv etc practicing it on my hands and just pursing lips etc, then try it on town foxes then on the ones you need shooting don't call them in too close as you'll spook them and they'll be reluctant to come in again Quote Link to post
