SportingShooter 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Report Share Posted April 27, 2008 You can apply for an SGC at any age, you can be given a gift of a shotgun at 14, use one with ot supervision when 15 and buy them and ammo when your 17. With a firearms, you need to be 14 to hold an FAC, 17 to buy guns and ammo, because of the increased difficulty of transfering firearms your probably better off applying for your SGC now and then applying for a FAC when your 17 so you can buy your guns and ammo yourself. With shotguns, someone over 17 can buy them for you and transfer them to you with relative ease. Regards SS Quote Link to post
3jackwhite3 2 Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 27, 2008 im not worried about getting shotguns and rifles at the moment its just that i want my FAC+SGC before my 17th birthday but my local RFD has gt a few old rifles/shotguns i can have(he loves me) ive been a member for 4 months of my local range and he said i have no problems getting what guns i want, as i want them for vermin control aswell as target shooting which are (.22lr,22 Air,.223cf) thanks sportingshooter for your reply.
