talpa 55
Hi, in a thread a little while ago changes to the open general licences in Scotland were discussed. As of tomorrow the new licences will come into play. Anyone north of the border will need to read and understand each licence under which they operaate and take the actions that are prescibed. As was suspected Tags will have to be attached to all bird traps and the coding given to the local Wildlife Crime officer of the local police authority prior to use. So anyone currently using Larson, Ladder, Pigeon, Sparrow traps will need to disable them until they have tags and can confirm the WCO officer has their tag code. I am sure that this will be an opportunity for any organised bunny huggers with an interest in tarring 'keepers, pesties and shoots to show us in a bad light for not complying, and with enoough evidence of non-compliance to push for full licencing on a case by case basis. The new licences can be read at - http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Environm...l-licences/2008 Will similar changes be taken up by the other devolved regional assemblies at the start of next year?
