hi guys i am reading jackie drakefords book the working lurcher and plummers book the new compleat lurcher and they are talking about things that i dont understand could you give me help on what the following mean

second cross

sire

dam

dam is a mother of pups and sire is dad of pups

=the pups father dam+=there mother
