Thanks for the repiles folks, ive purchased a couple of live traps and will be setting them soon, so hopefully things will progress from there ill let you all know how i get on.

Nice one Jack. It goes without saying that letting your dog kill a caught rat is illegal and I know you won't be doing that

yes i will only be catching a rat and then letting it go to a better place, once the dog has had a look and a sniff around.

i took my patt pup out as soon as she had her jabs.for the first few times she just watched the other dogs work.then i let herstart workin with them.the best thing for them is to get bit.after that they should just kill all the time.it is then great fun to watch them workin rats.they always try to outdo each other but they never ever fight over anything even when they go for the same scaley tail

getting bit is part of ratting but i wouldnt want any pup of mine to get bitten before its second teeth are through so im carefull.
