Why you need to be in a fieldsports organisation

Recommended Posts

In the last fortnight I have had telephone call's from people, asking for advice and the Tel no: of a good fieldsports lawyer?? Two cases have involved working dogs. The first case involves the accidental killing of a cat by Lurchers, the second is trumped up charge's relating to the disturbing of a badger sett. For obvious reason's I don't want to go into too much detail!!!!!!!! Both dog owners are not members of any fieldsports organisation and therefore are not entitled to advice or help from any of them!!!!!! I pointed both owners in the direction of Ian Clark " Director for THE SCOTTISH ASSOCIATION FOR COUNTRYSPORTS" Ian explained he could not do much for them, as they were not members of SAC's but he did offer personal advice and gave the Tel no: of a Lawyer :good: Both the guy's involved are known too me, and I would say both of them are of good character and would not normally be involved in any illegal activity!!! both have been charged with a no: of offences and now face a trial, and maybe considerable expence in clearing their names. The circumstance surrounding both incidents could happen to any of us?? it is therfore important to be a member of some organisation and make sure, that as well as having insurance cover, you are also covered for legal expences, because you may find you need it, if charged with a criminal offence??

"The Scottish Association for Countrysports" membership is open too any-one in the UK Tel No: 01698 885 206 and ask for Ian Clark. If not considering joining SAC's then the CA or BASC "I don't believe I've just written a plug for the Countryside Alliance  " GET INSURED AND LEGAL COVER, its no use shutting the gate once the horse has bolted!!!!!!!!!!
