perserveing rabbit skins

dunno if i would soak them in gasoline... i am no expert but that just sounds like a bad idea. someone correct me if i'm wrong though!!

one man told me his trick is to put the hides in a dryer with a couple of old shoes. turn the dryer on - no heat - and let them roll around together until the hides are soft. i am still waiting to try that out lol it just so happens i have a dryer with no heating element.... but i havent been able to get away long enough to go hunting.. except for squirrels anyway..

I justsalt mine, the last one i did was before christmas, i had salted it pegged it on a board and left it in my work room, but i forgot all about it till well after christams, i brushed all the salt off, hand washed the whole thing in a mild soap, when dry i rubbed a few coats of leather balm into it, will make some hunting mitts when ive got enough
