Hunting-top-shots 2
OK hold on a sec!! I have been asked by the German Counsil to trap foxes in live traps because it is a built up area and the cats have to be let out unharmed! the live traps are about 2,5 meters long and have an opening of 50 X 50 so quite big and heavy. there is no way that I can use any sort of wepon in the built up area so I have made a second door that replaces the falling door on one side in the second door there is a hole cut out the same size as the largest Conni. I thought it was simple replace the door and then push a stick under the door on the other side the foxes have then tried to bolt through the gap and have been caught in the conni all were instantly dispatched. no second back up and no trouble with the residents!! hope that has cleared things up as far as FFS goes you have lost me!! waidmann 105
hello bud. i always used a dispatch box. same dimensions as your trap but only 80cm long and only one door.all steel mesh. cover with a sack and place the opening to the door of the trap( leaving the opposite end open) fox will bolt into the dis box( raccoon will definately need the help of a bucket on astick as they a mostly very reluctant!) close first one door and then the other.trap empty/dis box full you can now take the fox/raccoon to a safe area where you can dispatch it in accordance with your regulations( shot with pistol/.22 magnum shot is very effective and will not richochet. or indeed a shotgun if all steel cage) i think you will have less trouble with this method, less can go wrong. a bit awkward carrying the box around to check traps but as you are restricted in the use of firearms( on site) it would probably be easier than the coni ( which was illegal in nordrheinwestfalen!) and more discreet than a failed catch too hope to hear from you. michael Quote Link to post
