Guest mush
? are you talking about when the dog is running keeping the filter on? or spotting with the filter on? If running, and the dogs never lamped with a filter I would use it to get as near as you can and then take it of before the rabbit moves. later the dog will get used to the filter and start spotting the rabbits with it on, then i slip the dog on the rabbit and take the filter off only when the dog get up to the rabbit or the rabbit moves. I never run the rabbits with the filter on or you may as well have a lower powered lamp, and with a lower powered lamp or filter on your dogs in more danger of hitting something Quote Link to post
towzer 3
spot on mush i slip the dog using filter but when hes close enough or the quarrys started to move i flick fiter off onto white beam, works for me Quote Link to post
ferret_uk 4
so i take it i would be best just using the filter to walk onto the rabbits then taking it off for the course Quote Link to post
Guest mush
Yes And i only use a filter in places the rabbits are lamp shy as the rabbits will start running at the first sign of the red light in the end same as with the white light, so your better of using the lamp on its own and using the filter later when the rabbits start getting lamp shy.
