Squeamish5 309
Couple of things I'm working on with my little dog (15 months) are STOP! and then, while he's still fired up and feeling hunty or chasey, but looking at me, throwing a ball (using one of those wanger thingies, because I can't throw) to distract him from scent and draw his focus back on to 'him and me' energy. Also have spare ball in case he doesn't bring it in close first time. Then once he's back in tight walking next to me, lots of focus, praise, frankfurter, eye contact. (NB I know nothing about hunting /dog training and don't live near deer. And it's def only work in progress.) Quote Link to post
