matt1979 766
Had a few days haeavy rain round this way to soften the ground and the cover is slowly dying off a bit. Pup around 9 month old now thought he was a bit older to be fair until I did the sums, been out mooching will the others and seen a few bits a bobs but nothing serious. He hasn't grown of any note for the last month or so just put a bit of muscle on and is starting to look the part nowadays at least in my eyes. He is a solid little fella and haven't weighed him of late but guess he has pretty much filled out, 21tts which is pretty much what I would of hoped. He has had a few runs on bunnies more by accident whilst out with the others and seems very keen. Needs to learn to be a bit more measured and some self preservation before he sees any serious action as he is a bit heart in the mouth even when just messing about with other dogs. Still a happy go lucky fella and the mrs and kids have proper fallen for him despite their disputes at the time of purchase that lurchers are strange skinny dogs having never had one before. He fits in well with my other 3 dogs and has a cracking nature to date, him and the terrier keep each other amused when around the house. I haven't done a real training as such, as I have said before, but just really work hard to get him onboard and bonded to me, which has seemingly worked well to date. He has started to hunt up a little but will recall well with a quick whistle. I would like to see him work alongside the terrier a bit more as they seem to have a tendency to compete a little when mooching about but they are both youngsters so hopefully this will improve as they grow up together. Off out early doors tomorrow morning over to the farm for a mooch around and hopefully he will get a couple of runs, as I think a few catches will bring him on even more. My old mans lurcher and terriers will be out with us all seasoned dogs fingers crossed the bunnies have made a bit of comeback as last time we headed over they had seemingly taked a hit. Few pics of him recently and one of the little fella at 8 weeks, All the best for the season ahead. 3 Quote Link to post
