Raider 0
Got The Lamper sporting dogs DVD watched it a few times and this got me wondering how quick a good lurcher will finish its fox. Im talking from the second you slip your dog to the second your satisfied the fox is no more how long on average does it take. Might also be helpful if you post the breeding of your dog. Thanks (pre-ban for the English boys I suppose ) Quote Link to post

lucky 578
i suppose it depends on the dog and where it first takes hold....imo a dog that takes hold accross the back and shakes is the ideal because they can finnish a fox in seconds...some dogs always want the head end and this usually takes a while longer depending on the jaw power of the dog....the majority of the dogs i have seen on fox will take hold anywhere but always change there hold and work for the neck...basicly choking the fox to death but it can still be over very quickly... dogs that shake...can kill foxes far quicker than dogs that dont....big powerfull dogs with massive jaw power are usually quicker at killing foxes than dogs of slighter build with less jaw power.... basicly its all down to the individual dog...some learn a knack and some dont....but i'd still be happy to own any of the types mentioned above Quote Link to post
