I use the Striker for foxing, with rifle, and can't fault it. Never seen the other lamp in action so can't say about it beng better or worse. If you get a Lightforce, either get one with a dimmer or put one on it.

well, both lamps work on on a 100watt bulb and suck battery power... i have a 170 now and although the beam is excellent i doubt if i'll get the same wear out of it as i do with the blaser... the only fault with the blaser/laser is the beam is a bit wide and i dont care what anyone says, no amount of fidgeting with the bulb holder with narrow it down!!.... other than the quality of beam that the 170 has i think the blaser stands out just a tad better.. reasons being that the hinged filter systems are second to none and it also has a secondary bulb for walking and opening gates etc...

Lightforce has a better beam than Clulite though. The only thing with Lightforce is the connections, once you sort them, no more problem. I have two Lightforce lamps and both work perfectly now, never let me down.

Just got the Striker 170 with dimmer switch yesterday. Only used it last night for an hour or two as there wasn't much out. Very pleased with it, glad i went for the dimmer switch as on full power i'd say it would mill through battery life. Don't need the full power most of the time but nice to have it when needed. I didn't go for the 140 as i reckoned i'd have to run it with dimmer at full power most of the time.
