Recommended Posts

LAST 8 DAYS THE DOG WITH THE TORN STOPPERS HAS BEEN IN NO AGONY , BUT HE CANT WALK MORE THAN 300 - 400 YDS ON A HARD SURFACE BEFORE DEVELOPING A LIMP.... FRONT RIGHT LEG

IVE RUBBED IN EMBRO FLUID, COOLING GEL , IVE CHECKED HIS PADS FOR LEASIONS , BURNS , THORNS BURIED ETC. NOTHING

HIS QUICKS SEEM CLEAN AND WHOLE AND NOTHING IS IN THEM . HES NOT NAWING AT THEM

HIS TOES ARE FINE, NO BREAKS OR BRUISING

HE HAS NO SIGNS OF SWELLINGS , FRACTURES OR "HEAT" ENAMATING FROM ANYWHERE IN THE LEG . HE CAN PUT PRESSURE ON IT IN THE KENNEL OR WHEN IN THE GARDEN BUT LEASHED UP THE LIMP BECOMES CHRONIC.

Im taking him to the vets tonite, They will undoubtedly recommend an x ray and an anti inflamotory jag. Im not to excited by this as I think it is muscular.

does anyone know of a good greyhound vet in the north of England who I can take this dog to?

Had a black terrier with a leg like that Hawky. Nothing physically wrong as far as I could tell and the vet reckoned it was a muscle sprain. Don't know if it would have cleared up though because Nell killed her.

There's a great one in Oldham, called paul here's his number 0161 628 5709. He wont rob ya either.

cheers for the replies and Pms with advice :good:

Diagnosis is as such , Chest muscles are strained and chest is badly bruised. Will take 5 - 6 weeks until the swelling dies down a little and can run again.

I will give him till december, No point in rushing back and exacerbating the problem.
