martin 332
My rimfire is in the shop having 4" taken off the barrel to make it a bit more useable in the truck,so,I was getting a bit itchy, wanting to get out,so I dusted off the Rapid 7 and slapped a lamp on it,and went off over the fields. As you will know it was a full moon last night, but, when I went out it was also very cloudy.Well i went over to a stables near me where I have permission to see what was about.I had amixy rabbit off there the other night,so,I was half expecting more of the same, but,I was pleasantly surprised to find that the 3 rabbits I shot were all clean as a whistle, although I think I saw one mixy one, that popped into the nettles not to be found. I took on a long shot, mainly because there was absolutely no wind beside a long terrace of poplar trees, and to the rabbits surprise I hit him 1/4" behind the eye, and, when I paced it out it was 62 big paces, and,it was downhill,so I was well chuffed. The Rapid is running at 38ft lb,and is on my fac, and, although I haven't had it out lately because of the rimmy,I enjoyed myself, and, will be taking it out a bit more I think. Guest SJM
Nice one, is it a Mk1 or II? What would be the difference between your rapid at 38lb and your rifle? What lb is that putting out, just out of interest? Cheers Quote Link to post

Cheers I'll let you know when I get it back,I'll put it over the chronograph. The biggest difference between the two is the fact that you need to have a proper backstop for a rimmy, and the air rifle doesnt need a backstop after say 70yds.
