gameforthegame 15
this is my old beddy whippet x whippet greyhound bitch. she was my first dog who gave me the chance to learn more about working dogs and hunting first hand. I had been out a fair few times before I got her but with other folk and their dogs. I brought her on from being weeks old. we learnt a lot together, having never kept dogs before there was a lot for me to learn in terms of obedience, training, conditioning etc. something that I enjoyed, but also tried my patience at first... givne time I got a better understanding of ways to do things. I read a few older books about lurcher breeds/crosses which helped me understand more. over the past two and half years or so I enjoyed bring the rough bitch on, watching her first catch, working with ferrets, jumping and working the beam and so on.. she was no world beater by any means but a great little dog I put a lot of time into and who came on well, probably quicker than I did in all fairness to her. she also did well at a number of shows... EDRD, Cheshire, a couple in North Wales, Ovenden, Pennine Fox Hound, Lancashire.. Sadly she died in October. was a difficult period getting over her... but having missed the season I was most looking forwards to I am back on my feet again, having been out a few times with friends and their dogs again. I am now running the mother to my bitch and looking for a sire suitable for her. I have had different thoughts on what to put over her; as to improve on areas I thought my old bitch could of made up on. anyway, I have attached a couple of photos. cheers Edited February 12, 2014 by gameforthegame 2 Quote Link to post
