Greyhound/ Redheeler/ Pittie?

Recommended Posts

Hello I recently helped rescue a Greyhound cross. We think she has redheeler in her but there may be pittbull as well. She is dog reactive and any advice I can get to help with this would be wonderful. She is a spayed female 5or 6 years old now. She did have a litter of 10 pups 4 years ago. She is great with my pack (4 jack russells and a petite bassett griffon vendeen), but reacts to new dogs. She grabs and shakes them, and as a result is muzzled while out, this makes her a useless hunting dog. I feel she would make the perfect addition to my current working pack, if we could just lose the muzzle. I do use electric collars on my dogs and she does react appropriately to this.

She is very playfull with my playfull with my pack, which leads me to beleive that she may not have had the best puppyhood. She is very gentle with humans but does show drive with prey animals. (Our main prey here is rabbit). She is conditioned. I dont know what else I can tell you about her.

I do feed a homemade raw diet. She has transitioned over to this really well. My dogs live in the house with us as cherished members of the family. However like everyone else each dog earns its keep. They love hunting and I do not think I could live with 4 Jacks without hunting them.
