T.F.Student 0
The flower looks very much like a mallow or lavertaria if your posh...do you know what it is Al
mad al 146
Haven't a clue TF to be honest. The place where this grows well there are only weeds that survive there, but this little beut. thrives on it. Walked past there earlier today and hell, there's three blooms there now ................Al
gardener 0
Yeah, looks like a Cut-leaved Mallow (Malva alcea) - they're good survivors!

mad al 146
Thanks for info G & TF..............as you can see, I know nowt about flowers. My Dad was the expert in that department. When I was a lad, I remember him being the first in this area to "dye" flowers, meant nothing to me then, but when I tell people this, they just look daft God knows what he used ...........Al

T.F.Student 0
I've never heard of dyeing flowers Al...had a google and there's plenty info on there, the piece i read they used food colouring in the vase and over a few days the flowers suck up the dye and the petals change colour. Thinking about it, i read somewhere that you could put something in the soil around a hydrangea and that would change the colour of the flower. I can't remember what it was though Thanks for the compliments on the photo But I'm afraid the only thing i do is point and press. The camera that did the work is an Acer CI 6330, they cost around £100, i just used the close up setting on it and the auto focus.
