Gun cabinets

Hi all,

theres a guy on e bay selling Gun Cabinets based in Redbourn Herts. under the name GDK Trading.I am interested in buying one but the add doesn't say "Police approved" and I have asked him 3 times if they are police approved and he wont reply.I suppose I am answering my own question and should take it that the lack of response is answer enough.Has anyone bought one or knows of the company?

As a first time applicant for a shotgun licence I dont want to make any mistakes so advice is always welcome

You could ask your local firearms officer if they have had any experience of gunsafes from that supplier - you can bet you wouldn't be the first person to buy one from there, especially if it's local.

The seller has replied:

"hi, these cabinets are built to the bs7558/92, however we cant police aprove it for you. collection will be fine, but the time can vary. once you have won the item,or if you wanted to buy it now. please let me know and we can arrang a time.

Can anyone tell me if BS7558/92 will pass inspection.?

 

John, I have followed your advice and phoned the FAO, his dept said not to worry as he will advise me on his preliminary visit and approve it on a second visit.

I should think so, see here

 

Part of the advice and inspection will be about where you put it and how you secure it. Your FAO's advice is the best way to be sure you stay on side with them.
