IanS 3
Why can’t FAO stick to the same fecking rules? Just had my cabinet inspection for my FAC to be told it was in the wrong place and I won’t be granted my FAC (which I applied for in March) until I move it. Yet the previous FAO who granted my shotgun cert was more than happy with its position/location and gave me the shotgun certificate. Makes me wonder if it's because I put a complaint into the Chief Inspector after they lost my references and didn't bother to tell me. Quote Link to post
dadioles 68
Take a look at: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/117794/security_leaflet.pdf It tells you pretty much all you need to know about secure firearm storage. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
Not wanting specific details but how is the cabinet currently secured and how is it concealed, if at all? Quote Link to post
IanS 3
Cabinet (Batton Sound RL5) is behind a door in the bedroom bolted to the wall and cant be seen from inside the flat unless you enter the room but since it faces a window I have net curtains up which the FAO who gave me my SGC was more than happy with but the new FAO who was going to grant me my FAC seemed to think that if someone was to move the garden table and stand on it to look through the 4 inch gap above the net curtain which is 8 foot up the window from the outside that they could then clearly see the cabinet so said it had to be moved. Also he wont grant the sect 1 shotgun part of the my FAC since I'm still a probationary member at the shotgun club but a full member at the rifle club so only granting the rim fires for target shooting. I later e-mailed him the day after to ask if I built a wardrobe around the cabinet so it's hidden would he then grant the FAC to which he then said yes once inspected again and that he did wonder that but didn't tell me. So now waiting delivery of a cheap wardrobe to pull apart and fit around it. So far hasn't been the best experience with Hampshire Police for FAC. Applied back March 25th. Then didn't hear anything so contacted them month later for them to say I hadn't sent them the references which where sent to them in the same envelope in separate sealed envelopes as the application form but somehow they seem to of lost them (even though they still never omitted to it) so had to get my referee to re-write them again. This is why I put a complaint in against the bad service from the Dept after there admins near enough called me a liar stating I never sent then in the first place.
