Rabbit Numbers In The 80S

Recommended Posts

Do you remember the late 1970s, early 80s, when the fields were

full of rabbits.

I remember lamping back then, you could quite litteraly pick your

squatters, because more than a few would squat per field in those days,

and quite big bags were the norm, not that high numbers mattered,

it was about seeing your fine tuned lurcher at full flight, and using its brains to outwit the fleeing bunny, to put in to the bag.

I also take my hat off to the humble rabbit because no matter what man, or nature throws at it, they always make a recovery, although

in recent years their numbers have been up and down.. Long live

old Oryctalagus cunnicilus, the rabbit, and may he be about till the ending of time to supply not only sport, but also a tasty pie, stew,

casserole, dog or ferret food, always put them to use,

Happy lamping when the new season is upon us :victory: ..
