Mercury S

Recommended Posts

I contacted a old mate the other evening who I sold my BSA Mercury S .177 too back in 1981, to my surprise he still had the gun standing in his cuboard and brought it round, its still had all the original stuff I added to it Includeing a white spacer on the recoil pad and the swivels and to my knowledge the PTFE washer I fitted in it around 26 years ago, by his accounts the gun has never been stripped since he brought the gun! I beleive him as the Breach washer was squashed beyond recognision and leaked big time, the good thing is he has offered to sell it back to me but wants £200 for it!! its a bit steep by a long chalk but he obviousley knows I want it back and is milking it, would anyone else spend over the odds on something thats sentimental to get it back?

Cheers

Thats exactly what i had back when i was 14, and living in Northampton.

Only difference being, mine was a .22.

Shot many a pigeon, rat, rabbit with it, my first rifle. :D

That one looks well kept Jasper.

See if you can get him down a bit, well worth trying. :)

Good luck :drink:

Cracking rifle there Jasper B) . Go around with 150 notes, you never know, the reddies are always tempting  .

That said only you can say what it is worth sentimentally, you know where it has been and if it hasn't been abused...............

Cheers for the advice men , I tried him again last night with a offer of £200 but he's not moving from £250 :hmm:. I want it but Its alot of cash he's asking for it!! Hopefully he'll budge a bit as I can't see me blowing £250 on a gun I sold all them years ago for £30.

Cheers
