SportingShooter 0
There is no lower or upper age limit to be granted a Shotgun certificate. If you have a shotgun certificate in your own right, then you can have a cabinet installed in your house providing you will have sole access to it. When you have been granted a certificate, then you can be Given a shotgun and ammunition to keep and use unaccompanied. There is a difference between it being bought for you by someone else with your money and then being given it than actually being gifted it. The former being illegal, the latter, legal. At 15 anyway.
