cliveroberts 0 Posted March 31, 2013 Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 Hi all, you may recall I tested some cartridges for foxes a while ago, well Just an affirmation of their effectiveness, I was rough shooting the other day and it came to about dusk, and as expected a fox appraered out of a hedge a ways in front and dissapearred over a bluff into a deffilade, so I changed cartridges to 50gm BB Express Max Game and squeaked the fox back in, seeing as I wasn't really concealed, only crouched in from of a fence backed by a wood in plain view charlie wasn't too keen on coming any closer so to cut a long story short, I took the fox at about 37m with 1/4 choke, I got cramped in my swing so I didn't manage to swing through too far but even so, the fox dropped on the spot, and with what appeared to be not that many pellet strikes, so I'm totally sold on 50gms of BBs and IMO if your gun can take them and you think you might want to shoot a fox with the shotgun, then that is really what you should be using. as even with an open choke, those BBs (and there's a lot of them!) certainly do the business Quote Link to post
