as its a wide open question an no right or wrong anser youl get alot of difrent replys. im not one to "leave a pup be a pup, start working on it when its 12-18 months old". hear lots of lads do it this way. i belive get them out and about from day dot, let them see stock , socialize, get them out in motor urly aswell. i like to start basic training, ie siting, staying, retriving, from as urly as 10-12wks, the urlyer you programe the pup with comands, the easyer as it will get older, it will be like second nature. by the time a pup of mine has rached 7 or 8 months old, it will have been ferreting from 4months old, it will be stock broke, jumping, and all the other basic comands should all be upto scratch, if i think the pup is ready, and all the basics are spot on, i will then introduce it to the lamp , picking the runs very carefully, more often than not, holding back on slipping the pup, i like to get them wanting to chase, rather sicken them with running their feet off. anyway, hope thats enough you can take some advice from. all the best :victory:

That's sound advice there.
