Black Rabbit

ive seen solid black & white wild rabbits near where i live, some pet rabbits most have escaped & mixed with wild rabbits

Braved the weather yesterday morning for a few hours ferreting, and managed to persuade a companion to join me with the line "it's days like these that turn out to be the best ones!". It wasn't our best day by any stretch but we had 14 in just under 3 hours so plenty of sport and a few nice runs for the dog so very happy really. However something out of the ordinary did happen, the last rabbit of the day bolted and the net turned into a black ball of fur! The dog was a little confused and didn't really know what to make of it, she started running to the pursed net before pausing for a second and to be honest I think I even slowed down my run towards the net to take a second glance! True to my eyes there lay a black rabbit balled up in the net. I have seen them before but only up in scotland never around us (shropshire/northwales border), and i certainly have never got so close to one before. It got me thinking, do many see these about by them or have people had encounters with any black rabbits before?
All out of interest, I'm sure many of you have but it was all new to me!

I was out rabbit shooting on Sunday, I shot 2 does from 2 different warrens, I collected them & put them together unintentional outside the start of another warren then went in search of more to shoot, I'd got about 150 yards away when I saw a young black buck rabbit come out of the warren & was running around sniffing the shot does, he seemed to be transfixed by them so I decided to ambush him, so I got within range(air rifle ) & had him in my crosshairs when he lept on one of the does & started humping it!! I didn't shoot him in the end I just thought fair play to you son!!

I know of two different locations miles apart that i have permission on with good numbers of black rabbits on them. This year i had a new colour for me it was a grey normal colored rabbit with a white stripe down the middle of its head right to the nose like you would see on a dog and a white patch under its neck chest.
