Guest vin
Been out all day doing some awfull spots today..mainly underneath Pre-fab buildings and office blocks.and obviously lots of concrete panels and duckting . The Rain started at about 8.30 am and never stopped all day..bloody miserable it was..but to be honest it was much better for the Ferrets and dog than it was yesterday all hot and sweaty all day long. I had to try and evacuate a couple of bunnies from enderneath a prefab building that was probably about 40 metres square. . .and it had panels and concrete slabs all the way around the ground levels..the rabbits had made their way under the paving slab and under the building with a few exits scattered all around the perimitres of the building,But quite a few very dodgy gaps that dropped of into the underground power ducts etc etc.. long nets all the way around the building and 4 ferrets underneath resulted in nothing..so after about an hour of ferts popping in and out and the dog going dizzy running the perimetres,We decided to take a panel off the sides and have a good look under the buildings..The space underneath was huge and when I got my torch out we could see the ferrets chasing the bunnies around underneath..everytime the ferts got close to the bunny it would just run to the opposite end away..so basically the ferts were just trying to catch them on top in a huge area where they could just run away as soon as they get anywhere near em.. we watched the ferts following the scent trails and getting withing 3-4 inches of the bunny before it scuppered off the opposite end..i tried blocking all but 2 exits and waited anither half an hour but in the end I had to admit defeat.. only for today though. I'm gonna have to backnet the buggers instead..next time they come out im gonna stick a couple of nets between them and there route for home.. end of. I moved onto another spot where they were going underneath a steel container..but they had dug a small warren underneath also..with 1 nice bolt hole just a couple of yards from the container..same script..long net all the way around and dropped a couple of the young ferrets under..they bolted 2 with a bit of persistance and a lot of bobbing in and out..I then bolted one out of some cover with the dog which ran under another container..So long nets on and out with the ferrets..this one ran around underneath for a while knowing what was waiting for him outside..but eventually the ferrets shifted him out and into the net.. finished on 3 very very hard earned bunnies... Im actually looking forward to some nice big open sets in soil after all this hardcore and concrete. Quote Link to post
