lakies first rabbit

Recommended Posts

i was out for a walk at the weekend with my 2 lakie pups with my mate and hes lakie x patt wasnt expecting to see or get anything was just taking dogs out for a walk, soon as we got out of the van we seen quite a few rabbits so we thaught we might aswell let the dogs have a little chase all the rabbits was going straight for the fence and down the holes so we went through the woods and down to the lake to let the dogs have a swim. on the way back we walked the same way knowning the rabbits would be back out so the dogs could chase them again not expecting any of the pups to catch them with my 2 been 8 month old and my mates only 5 and half month but we still chased them anyways, as me and my mate run with the dogs threw the field i realised we only had 1 of mine and my mates dogs with us so i turned round but couldnt see the other so ive shouted him and seen his head pop up out of the long grass and go back down and he wouldnt come to me when i kept shouting i run back over the field towards him and as i got closer i could here sqealing but couldnt see the dog i thaught he might have a field mouse but as i got closer seen it was bigger than a field mouse and was a rabbit so ive shouted my mate and he run over with the other two dogs and soon as they go to me they also started raggin on the rabbit and eventually its days was over. was please with the two dogs for ragging on it but more please with rascal my pup that actually caught it since theyve had that both my lakie pups have become alot more alert when im out with them now and theyve started bushing now and they wouldnt before all in the space of a weekend shows how much the first kill can change your dogs.
