naturel wood for a catty

right lads a quick question. what would be the best wood for a naturel catty falk ? i have only ever made them out of steel so i realy dont no do i have to let it seasan ? any help would be grate i realy wont to make a naturel catty as i like the look of them.thanks atb kev :thumbs:

Oak, ash, hawthorn, holly, silver birch, rowan, i've just cut one from scots pine (will let you know how tht goes), walnut, apple, pear ect ect

 

any wood thats strong enough really

 

edit to say you can let it season or give it a quick bake in the oven or cut forks from trees that have been down a while :)

privet or ash or blackthorn .is very good .tie some in to shape now and let it grow to next autumn making sure you dont cut into the bark ..if your around my way ive got some nice seasoned forks here you can try
