kendong99 0 Posted February 13, 2012 Report Share Posted February 13, 2012 hi i just need some advise on so rust on my tx you can only see it when you put the lamp on it iv used tin foil and nothing coming of so im not sure if it is rust or not its brown i don't understand it i always clean my rifle with oil when iv used it and its in a dry place all times you cant see it if your not under the lamp please help me all so iv just brought some birchwood casey super blue liquid how do i use it and can i put it stright on scratch's hope you could help Quote Link to post
Fran74 1 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Share Posted February 15, 2012 Hi there, I would advice you NOT to use any cold bluing products over the original finish of your gun. Since you're already worried about something that can only be seen under particular light conditions, you wouldn't be happy with the results, I'm sure. If you want a brand spanking new looking gun, the only real way is professional hot bluing. This will cost you usually more than 100 quid. If you think you can live with it, then you need to make sure there's always a sensible layer of gun oil on the steel, as this can easily be rubbed off by the padding of some bags. If you're handy, you can strip the gun, inspect it and relube it, cos sometimes if signs of rust show on the outside, it could be worse on the inside. Good luck Fran Quote Link to post
