Guest bigwelshman59
hi im 15 this is the first summer ive had my 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie i lamped him a bit through the winter and caught a small number of rabbits, i also had an accidental run on a fox (as i fox was after the same rabbit i was going for. didnt mean it as dog was so young) any ive been told that the second season is when a dog really locks on to his job i was wandering if this is true as the lamping in the last winter wasnt exactly perfect. I was also wandering what i could do in the summer to help sharpen the dog up before the season starts for me. Thanks for any replies Lee Quote Link to post
Guest Doug
Second season will be better. You never get 'perfect' be happy with a dog that does its best. Don't worry about the fox - accidents happen Don't believe all you read in books and magazines, or even on the Net - dogs catching shedloads of rabbits and so on - you can only catch a proportion of what's there and rabbits take a bit of catching in most areas. There are places where they are easy, but more where they aren't. Enjoy your dog - one of the best friends you'll ever have. Quote Link to post
