I met big Dunc on Formby Dunes last year, spent a half an hour in his company , very softly spoken and a true gent, nothing too much trouble.

He said he would send some autographs for my two lads and fair play a few days later a parcel arrived - signed Everton shirt, pictures and other memorabilia.

Like I said, a true Gent , And lets not forget that he played his last 3 seasons with quite a bad back injury.

I'll always remember him single handedly rolling Man Utd over and scaring the

shit out of Sammy Hypia :clapper:

Wrong Bill, i do like Football, i don't however like the mincing and cheating, flopping and falling and trying to kid the refs and bend the rules.

Footballers, proffessionals any way, are supreme athletes, they have balance and poise, so when they fall over and roll around like girls it is an embarrassment.

Absolutely spot on mate,i couldn't agree more. ;)

.. Here we go !!

I played Non- League, Semi-pro football from 17 to 32.. My oldest boy is on the books of a Non-League team aged 15, and my youngest boy is with a Pro-Club aged 8.

Football is a game of skill.

Rugby is not.

When I was at school, the fat kids who had no talent played rugby... the captaian of our school Rugby team was 15 st. and had a beard aged 14 yrs old.

This is the acid test....... Give a half-decent footballer a Tennis ball, he will juggle it ,do a few keepy-ups and try a few ball skills.

Give the same Tennis ball to a club Rugby player and he will stuff it down his shorts and make up a song about his massive knob, or try and insert it in one of his team mates...

The diving and play-acting is wrong but you cannot compare the skill of Football to the 'run-into each-other-and-knock-each-other-over of Rugby !!

yes you always know the lads who dont have the skill or talent to play football as they always start saying how hard rugby is :D

the bottom line is jealousy gets you no where :tongue2:

it is true though that the art of diving etc is spoiling the game and it really winds me up but unfortunatley until something comes in to punish properly this will be around for afew more seasons

at the end of the day rugby will never be up there with football and as for them being hard...well maybe some of them yes....but would they have the bottle to get in the cage without there team mates?..
