I think the only different wounds that a lurcher may get to a terrier is skin rips / tears ( not referring to tendons knocked up toes etc, just injuries that may require antibiotic treatment), caused by fences or obstacles collided with, obviously depends on the game your after in the first instance. Puntures, skin slashes etc caused by something that bites back will need a lot more observation and looking to due to the filth that the prey species may have been feeding on etc , cuts and tears that are caused by barb and such like, although requiring observation and sometimes stiching up , rarely go as bad as the former mentioned wounds, just my humble opinion. Amoxicillin I find very effective as a broad spectrum antibiotic. Its probably a cousin to penicillin somewhere along the lines. 1 Quote Link to post
