NightRunner 0
Here's some things you asked about. The first is what is known as a Sterling MJ this is a model 500. They have cast jaws and should never be dry fired. here it is set. They will hold most game here in the US mostly used in for fox and coyote. Here's a Belisle 110 take a look at the jaws. They kill on the spot and I have had some coon by the foot and not on puprose. Here's what 400 micros locks look like. Rich Kasper sells these and he does ship over seas also. here is a MJ 500 in action, A good friend of mine made this catch. What happend was he was using a drag or what we call a hook, Ground was frozen and this coyote couldn't break out. Talk about a catch circle. Edited March 16, 2007 by NightRunner Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
Nice one nightrunner, I like the look of those traps with the cast Jaws. How do you find the Dogless traps? Its a pitty the only approved traps in my state are teh Victor Softcatch, and the Duke Softcatch traps also the Jake trap. Ever used the Jakes? apparently they are the buz for the wild dogs Quote Link to post
NightRunner 0
I have some Jakes and they are a first class trap. Dogless traps are great once you get used to the setting. The great part about them is when you use a steel screen pan cover you can set it is seconds. Here's a Jake signed by JC himself. If theft isn't a problem I would use the jake or a number three softcatch. I have some that are modded and will get a few pics of them later. I have never heard anything good about the Duke padded jaws. There are kits to do up the Bridgers. www.jcconner.com Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Always fancied a 'Jake Trap' amongst my Collection myself. Sort of like a way of showing how it should be done and how advanced things have become now. As it is, I have a John Milk fox trap ~ as owned, used by and bearing the mark of Mr Milk himself! Cost me a few bob, that one did! Like to see it? Remind me. I'll pull it out and get some shots of it. I have a couple or so pieces here to make US Trap Collectors sleep badly! Quote Link to post
