bobafet 30 Posted July 14, 2011 Report Share Posted July 14, 2011 Hello This is the first year i have had ducks and rearing has been fine with no problems yet, they are ready to go on the pond this weekend and it might seem a silly question but is it better to release them in the morning or the evening.. any help or tips welcome cheers B.... stewie 3,387 Posted July 27, 2011 Report Share Posted July 27, 2011 Hello This is the first year i have had ducks and rearing has been fine with no problems yet, they are ready to go on the pond this weekend and it might seem a silly question but is it better to release them in the morning or the evening.. any help or tips welcome cheers B.... morning by far the best option so you can keep an eye on them during the day, and as above they can find out there new surroundings better make sure the hoppers are full and working correctly and chuck plenty of barley in the shallows to keep them on the water, the last thing you want is them wandering the fields at night and making easy fox prey, especially as the crops will be cut soon when there happy on the lake remember not to shoot them to early aswell Quote Link to post
