working dogs in florida

anybody eles working pats in north florida or southern georgia. ive worked creeks ,clear cuts,wood piles fire breaks and still come up empty. i put out live traps and caught a coon and oppossum so theres game on the land any ideas should i stay near the creeks or move to higher ground where the under brush is thicker

FLAH- you live in the worst part of the country for terriers. Terrier work is almost non-extistent there. Some have had allot dogs lost to snakes bites comming from holes . Patterdales are go to ground dogs, coons ,possums and everything else is living in trees right now. I would go father north into GA and find some woodchucks now and coons will use holes in the winter months.

We have the same problem here in North Central TX. Our best luck is along creek beds we tend to find coon in bank hallows usually up under exposed tree roots. Wet or dry creek beds seem to hold lots of game, armadillos, opposums,& the occasional grey fox. I like the smaller drainage type creeks that are usually dry seem to always be loaded. But like Stunt said traveling is the best way for guys like us to get on chucks and badger.

thanks it good to know im not the onlt one with this problem/went out two weeks ago and killed three moccasins all of them about three feet long
