There can be little doubt that the National Countrysports Fair, which is currently Irelands longest continous running country sports event, is again at the fore in providing what is arguably the top weekend of Gundog Events this year.

 

The cream of Irish gundog handlers will be at Moira Demesne for this two-day Festival of Gundogs featuring this new and exciting mix of gundog events designed for all breeds of working dogs. There are FIFTEEN Different Gundog Events to enter at the National Countrysports Fair, probably making it the biggest gundog showcase at any country fair in the whole of Ireland.

 

Always wanting to bring something NEW and EXCITING to the show, the event organisers have teamed up with a Co. Fermanagh based shooting club, to bring the 'GUNDOG SNOOKER' competiton. Creating a 'real buzz' in the gundog world, each retrieve starts with a red dummy and the next can be any snooker ball colour they choose. The higher the value the harder the retrieve and all this is against the clock. It's never been seen in this form in Ireland before and this is a competition not to be missed!

 

With Bluegrass and Chudleys sponsoring many of the 'GUNDOG WORLD' events and with a great selection of prizes for the winning dogs and their handlers, the National Countrysports Fair promises to be a 'top class' event for all gundog enthusiasts.

 

From the Spaniel, Retriever and Cocker Working Tests to the Young Handlers Competition, Up-And-Over Pick Up and the BASC Gundog Scurry; there is something for all ages. Rounding all this off we have Two International Working Tests and a Parade of Gundogs.
