david2363 42
I got home a from work a bit later tonight, and as it was dark I took by young Beddy out for a walk in the park. Now this park is the old victorian type probably nearly a mile square with the canal at one end and surrounded by human habitation. Anyway, I had my "lamp" - big torch really , 1m cp £5.99 from Wilkinsons. I was standing on a ornamental bridge over the brook making squeeking noises (as you do) when I put the light on, a big pair of amber eyes was heading towards me along the side of the Brook. As it got closer I could see it was a fairly large dog fox. At this point I had lost sight of Spike, the Beddy pup, then I noticed that he was on a collision course with Charlie (he was oblivious to this) To cut a long story short they almost bumped into each other. I don't know who was the most surprised , the fox or the dog. He didnt get a bite on it but pushed it up the bank and into the open and across the main park ,keeping approx 15 yards behind it all the way. He came back unmarked 10 minutes later breathless but unmarked. As we continued on our way I spotted another Fox (looked like a male again) sneaking away beside some allotments. My god , I forgot the buzz that it gives you. I think I need to get me a lurcher. Dave
