Gaz_1989 9,539
I just wanted to tell people about my experience moving my 5 month old sal/whip/grey outside after living in the house. I got his kennel last Monday from here... http://www.thepetpads.co.uk/shop/dog-kennels/the-porchester--%7C8194/. I put it up on Wednesday and started putting him in the garden all day (8-6) but he refused to go in kennel. He would go in for his food but then come out soon as finished. He has made a right mess of the garden, the lawn is non existent and there are 2 foot holes dotted around. So I am in the process of making a run to keep him at the top of the garden where it is slabbed. Should be finished tomorrow. Anyway, yesterday was day 5 outside (daytime only). We went for a good walk in the morning with Rogue and his dogs for about 2 hours. Usually after this on a Sunday he sleeps all day, so I put him in his kennel with a breast of lamb and went shopping. Got back at about 2pm and he was curled up in kennel fast asleep :-) So I decided to see how he took to staying out longer and hopefully all night. Expecting crying and howling, I went to work at 3 leaving the missus on dog watch. I got home at 10pm and she said he hadn't made a sound and he was fast asleep in kennel. I went out with a bowl of minced lamb and gave him a fuss. He ate it, went down garden for a pee and straight back in kennel. He hasn't made a sound all night. Sorry for massive post, thought my experience may help others. Gaz
