Countryplinker 4
Had a good night out Sunday at friends Wildlife Permission , was still quite windy so could creep about and spot Bunnies more readily , I got 4 bunnies on night , last shot of night was a Humane clean head shot at approx 100yds with my Anschutz 520 semi-auto carbine with Hawke HD IR 3x9x50 scope , very pleased with performance of my latest .22lr Rim only 3rd time out with it Good-Times. kingnewport 19
100yard head shot! With a .22. How much hold over was it? Edited February 8, 2011 by kingnewport Quote Link to post
robbobsam 0
I have shot many rabbits with my CZ452 at 100yds+. After chaging the trigger and floating the barrel it will group eley subs at 50yds bullet on bullet. I have taken the time to shoot at a target and use each mildot on my crosshairs as the aiming point. I then use this information to use different mildots depending upon range. I use a MTC Mamba 4-16x50 and have taken rabbits up to 130yds with it. As long as the wind is low you should find 100yds quite easy using this method. I think you'll find a lot of people would struggle to repeatedly pull off 100 yrd head shots with the .22. Im not saying your telling porky's I've had great success shooting crows whilst holding the .22 a foot high. That's why there's a lot more going for the .17HMR for rabbits I believe. The question was: What is the exact holdover for 100yrd headshots for others to follow? Quote Link to post
