Wind turbines

Just wondered if anyone on here has there own wind turbine. I've just started looking into getting 1 and was wondering what sort of costs would be involved and what sort of return i would get out of it finacially?......cheers. :thumbs:

havn't got a clue but an old fella at a mates boat yard who has a 67ft narrow boat swears by his he paid £1.600 for all his kit 22" blade area 4 storage batteries and he runs all his boaty stuff charges his boat batteries and runs all the heating and water ,tv,radio,and he recons he has saved 1000snds not having to buy fuel for his generators.

I know its £500 for them to set up some kind of wind tester which records wind speeds and such for a 6 month to a year period. Just trying to gauge if its worth the hassle, i'm sure in the long run it will be profitable...just wondered how much? :thumbs:
