oman 23
Hi folks I am looking some information regarding the ban on shooting wildfowl. I live in N.Ireland and was looking to know are you allowed to shoot snipe and woodcock as the countryside alliance website states that Birds covered by the order include: coot, tufted duck, gadwall, goldeneye, Canada geese, greylag and pink-footed goose, mallard, moorhen, pintail, golden plover, pochard, shoveler, common snipe, teal, wigeon and woodcock. while the basc website states that During the statutory suspension in Northern Ireland it is against the law to shoot the species listed below. Note that it is legal to shoot game birds but not reared duck. BASC has called on its members not to shoot woodcock or snipe even though they are not covered legally by the statutory suspension. Ducks: gadwall, goldeneye, mallard, pintail, pochard, scaup. shoveler, teal, tufted duck, wigeon. Geese: Canada, greylag, pink-footed. Waders: Curlew, golden plover. cheers folks any information would be helpful.
