Cage Traps

Hi all,

 

I've never been into trapping before but love the snares & trapping threads, I find them highly educational and interesting, so I'm a complete novice, but eager!

 

I've decided that I'm going to try making a see-saw trap of some sort in the near future, and I have all the plans and info that I need from previous posts, so thats sorted.

 

My other problem is that I bought about ten feet of half inch mesh (the type you use for ferret hutches), its three feet high so I have quite a lot of it and I only need a couple of square inches for the see-saw trap. What kind of trap could I make from it, and how?

 

I've looked at plans for bird funnel traps and such but they don't interest me. I would much prefer to make something like a cage trap for rats & mink but I'm not sure if this stuff is strong enough. I'm not even sure that we have mink but they're is a lovely little stream that definitely has rats, otters and badgers living along it and an abundance of wildlife for the mink to live on so I would be surprised if the little feckers weren't there.

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Agree with ye entirely, John. On both counts, sadly!

 

I think the snag with that Sub Forum is that it's not clearly visible. And, let's face it. some of the characters on here need all the help they can get! :whistle:

Tell ye what though. One thing occurs to me (and, having built and run fora, I know it only takes a few crafty clicks from Ian ..... )

 

Dare I have the brass necked temerrity to suggest it might help even more if that Gorgeous 'Banner' portal there was just dropped down Below the Pinning board, to sit bang on top of this one? :whistle:

Thanks a bunch to all for helping out, i'll try to get stuck in as soon as possible, but unfortunately, bloody work is going to get in the way again from next week.
