UK dog deaths

Recommended Posts

My son lost his lab bitch a few months ago with blue algea. She went from being a good strong working bitch to a skinny runty looking thing within 24hrs. She had crapped about 6 or 7 times in the kennel overnight and was throwing up blood and thick saliva. We had to rush our vet out as we also had 3 terriers ill too. One of them was on the drip for 3 days at the nice cost of £280 before returning home to recover. The other two were ok. It turned out to be from my small garden pond. My mrs had emptied and cleaned the pond the night before and as she was doing this, the dogs were playing in and around it. They were drinking it and licking their paws. Luckily for the terriers they did not consume as much as my boys lab. I went to clean the labs kennel the following day and her craps were covered in a blueish mould. My pond has a pump running constantly so we never seen ought as the water is flowing non stop but now it is cleaned out every other week. We learned the hard way.
