Guest JOEB
Well what a grand morning I had........out the house with ferrets by 6.30 and a 1 hour drive to my permission, first thing I see as I pull on to the farm is reynard going full flight across the fields with his tail sticking streight out behind, poker stiff........pulled over and sat and watched his progress.......he looked in very fine condition, his copper colour shining. Out with the kit, and work a banking along a large field, we had 8 of which the 5 does where all carrying young .........allways feel a bit gutted about killing pregnant does, but what can you do at this time of year Packed up about 12.30 and on the drive home, a sparrow hawk was going full throttle next to the jeep at about 3 foot from the ground, just flew along with us for about 1/4 of a mile and then just turned vertical and up into a tree..........great sight To top the day off, we then spot a heard of Fallow (about 8 or 10) going at a good gallop across several fields......again, just sat and took time to watch this spectacle. Just sat and eaten some of the rabbits, had a good drop of real cider...feeling very good with the world. So merry christmas all, and dont forget to get out Tuesday and support the hunt J
