ferretfinder mk 3

Just bought a mk 3 finder, i was wondering does anyone know can i use it on terriers or are they made different for terriers? i know theres a magnet involved in the terrier finder but will the ferret one do?

i think so as long as you get the same depth of collar ie a 17foot one as opposed to a 40 foot one, as they are not calibrated to work the larger distance, they will work but not as accurate as 17ft box and 17 ft collar.
