FAC Renewal

Recommended Posts

my FAC is up for renewal in january, so decided to give them a call, at the moment i have 22lr 22/250 and 243, i inform ed them i intended to ask for a slot for 222 and or 223 and i was also wanting a 270, no problem i was told, now here is the confusing part, the force i come under has always stated that a bullet expanding head doesn't count as ammunition until it has been made up to a round ???

fine by me as they have said i can buy as many as i like and i want be breaking my conditions, however after speaking to them yesterday, regarding quantities i can buy and hold, they have said because of all the confusion being caused regarding this, all new applications where it is stated that you will be reloading are now being informed that for any centerfire calibres, we can buy 500 and hold 600, big difference from whats on my ticket at the moment buy 100 hold 160.

This is where the firearms department in the UK fecks up, it should be one rule across the board for all, up here all new applications get an open ticket elsewhere NOT.

its high time the rules were changed and make the rules apply the same all over the UK.

what do you guys think......

To the letter of the law, an expanding bullet head should count against your total ammunition allowance. There is no room for interpretation on that, and if your licencing department say otherwise they are wrong!

Who am i to argue, i can only tell how it is !!!

so this must be wrong.....
