opinions wanted to help make up my mind

hi all.. slight problem if you can call it that... just about to get my new tikka 223 mainly gonna be used for fox and(when i start to do my own home loads....long range ground vermin)looking to get a leupold vx3 3-5 10x50 scope,firstly what do you lot out there think of this scope for the job in question..

 

socondly..it may be a while till i can gather the money for the scope so was thinking about taking my leupold vx1 off my hmr for now and using that till i can get the other,does anyone think the scope is up to the job in hand or do i stick it on a credit card and get the right set up now without all the bother of messing around with my other rifle...

 

opinions please to help me make my mind up.

Leups aren't the best glass out there but will certainly be up to the task. I have a VX3 on my stalking rig and another on my foxing rig but both with 40mm objectives. They are good under the lamp and I get enough at last light for deer. I would suggest that if you are going for long range vermin i the future you go for a scope with more mag to reduce the margin of error. I have a 6.5-20x40 EFR with target turrets on my triple so I can dial in those longer shots and also see what I'm shooting at.
